This is a superb opportunity to join a real ‘community broker’, a firm that has been servicing the insurance needs of individuals and businesses across Nottinghamshire for generations. It has crafted a fine reputation locally for its professional yet personable approach, as well as the technical ability of its team.

Reflecting this broker’s diverse portfolio of accounts, this is a really varied role; it’s entirely feasible that on one call you could be dealing with a property owner or retailer with sub £5,000 GWP policy, and the next, a construction risk with premium spends approaching £1,000,000.
You will be responsible for preparing renewals, dealing with mid-term amendments and associated administration, as well as answering any day to day enquires that your clients may have. You will also be responsible for negotiating with Underwriters to secure your clients the most comprehensive cover at competitive premiums.

Being a small, close knit team, you may be asked to get involved in countless additional tasks. This really is a friendly and supportive environment, where you will be expected to roll your sleeves up and help out wherever needed. You will also gain the opportunity to visit your clients onsite at their premises to gain a greater understanding of their operations.

It is essential that you have experience within commercial insurance, ideally including exposure to all common covers and dealing with clients from a wide variety of industry sectors. You must have excellent client service skills and pride yourself on the ability to get on with customers from all walks of life. You should be confident in your approach, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should also be diligent, meticulous and have great attention to detail.

In return, you will receive a negotiable basic salary and a generous benefits package, including support towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute.
