With facilities to offer all classes of UK Construction insurance cover including Contractors All Risk (Annual and Project), Contractors Liability and Contractors Combined, there really is no reason for supporting brokers to seek cover elsewhere for their policy-holding Tradesmen, Regional Construction Firms, Builders and Developers.
You will be responsible for the underwriting of broker-introduced new and renewal business and will make a strong contribution to the income and profit objectives of the business to meet budgets and targets. You must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of excellent customer service and negotiation skills, and have a good level of market awareness. You will ensure that the standard of service provided to customers is in accordance with those laid down by the company along with FCA regulatory rules and guidelines.

There are a range of opportunities available at Assistant Underwriter, Underwriter and Senior Underwriter level. You’ll be able to demonstrate proven experience from within the Construction sector and ideally this will come from within an MGA or wholesale broking environment. Candidates that come from the syndicate or composite insurer space with strong trading skills are also actively encouragd to apply.
During Covid, our client has continued to maximise output, deliver upon its key KPIs and write outstanding levels of new business while its staff have worked remotely. As a result of this, it is keen to embrace a new hybrid way of working and is happy to allow staff to work from home 2/3 days a week (if required), with the remainder based from head office in the City. Of course, if you’d prefer to work 5 days from the office, that can be accommodated too.
