This is a truly career-defining opportunity; a chance to join a global broking house and take charge of a high-performing team of Corporate Account Executives, whilst personally inheriting a portfolio of much coveted accounts.

Here, your portfolio will comprise complex accounts, typically pertaining to FTSE100 & 250 companies, led by knowledgeable and sophisticated insurance buyers. Given their size, these clients will often carry a high degree of self-insurance, or have captive arrangements in place.
You will build high level relationships with your clients, in order to develop a sound understanding of their business activities. Continually scrutinising their ever-evolving companies, you will ensure that your clients are adequately covered in line with their risk appetite and growth plans, and when gaps in cover exist, you’ll develop innovative solutions to mitigate these. You will oversee broking strategy and be tasked in programme design and placement, and you’ll be supported by a dedicated team of Corporate Account Handlers, as well as by specialist teams (such as Risk Management, Cyber or Marine experts) based nationally and globally.

As the Account Executive Team is well-established, settled and experienced, the team members only require a ‘light touch’ from a management perspective. As such, your duties in this regard are centred around ensuring that your team members remain engaged, challenged and are progressing towards their own personal development plans. As such, it is not essential that you have extensive managerial experience, and we welcome applications from candidates who are ready to take their first Team Leader style role.

It is essential that you have a detailed knowledge of commercial insurance, and experience of dealing with complex, corporate clients encompassing Property, Liability and associated covers. We also welcome applications from client-facing candidates from a variety of insurance backgrounds, including Broking, Claims and Underwriting. Crucially, it is essential that you have excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to liaise effectively at board level, and the confidence to lead and influence conversations.

As this position has light managerial duties, you will be anticipated to be in the office around 4 days per week initially (aside from when out seeing clients), although there may be increased flexibility to work from home more often, once you are up to speed.
