“Working within an extremely well-regarded, highly technical team, dealing with a fascinating, eclectic mix of Professional Indemnity risks, you’ll never be bored”, is how the Financial Lines Director describes this superb opportunity to join one of the world’s best known broking houses.

Here, you will work in close conjunction with Account Directors from the wider corporate business and take the lead in the management of clients’ PI programmes. You will assume control of an existing portfolio of PI clients, including but not limited to Design & Construct, Traditional Professions and Miscellaneous cases. Clients range in size and make-up, from relatively small contracting risks through to much more complex, multi-national organisations, both public and private.

You will be responsible for managing client relations from a PI/ Financial Lines perspective, including scrutinising their current programmes and exposures to risk and, where potential gaps in cover exist, developing innovative solutions to mitigate these. You will strive to continually develop your clients’ robust insurance programmes, and be in charge of the placement of clients’ PI policies, using your well-honed negotiation skills to secure them the most comprehensive levels of cover at a competitive price.

As you would expect, this is a senior position and you will be aided in your endeavours with the support of a dedicated team of Brokers, Account Handlers and Claims Executives who will support you in relation to mid-term amendments, dealing with renewals, preparing reports and documentation, as well as in the event of a loss.

Our client has fully embraced remote-working, and welcomes applications from candidates based anywhere in the UK who can visit the regional offices occasionally. Moving forward, a lot of client meetings will be held virtually, however you would be expected to visit them on site occasionally - you will be responsible for managing your own diary in this regard.

It is essential that you have a detailed knowledge of the Professional Indemnity market and whilst not essential, previous exposure to Design & Construct (D&C) would certainly add weight to your application. It is not essential that you are currently working in an Account Executive capacity, and we are equally keen to hear from Account Handlers ready to take the next step, as well as talented Underwriters with strong interpersonal skills. The ability to demonstrate a genuine commitment to keeping abreast of developments in the fast-moving PI insurance sector is crucial.
Whilst this is a flexible-working opportunity (although for those who prefer working from an office environment will be offered a desk at a regional branch), our client is quick to point out that the Financial Lines division has a superb team environment, with plenty of support, a sense of camaraderie, and a real feeling of purpose, where everyone enjoys working to shared goals.

This firm is heavily focused on the career development of its staff, and has one of the top training academies in the industry. Not only will you have access to training material at your current level, but you will also be given access to training material for higher bands, in order for you to be proactive when it comes to planning your career progression. The company offers many career development avenues into a wide range of business areas, and is a big promoter of internal promotion wherever possible.

You will benefit from an attractive basic salary, bonus and one of the most generous pension arrangements in the industry. You will also receive a flexible-benefits package (buying and selling holidays, enhanced PMI etc.) that can be tweaked to suit your own personal circumstances.
If you have the required skills, as well as a desire to work for one of the most enviable Financial Lines businesses in the UK market, then feel free to contact us to discuss in complete confidence.
