This global broker grants its Account Executives a high degree of autonomy, allowing them to run their desks as they see fit and focus on client interaction rather than attending unnecessary internal meetings for the sake of it! It’s anticipated that you’ll be needed in the office to attend necessary strategy or insurer meetings on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Best of all, you will inherit a six-figure portfolio of accounts which, whilst it can be tweaked to suit your skills, experiences and ambitions, is likely to comprise clients from wide a range of industry sectors such as Haulage, Construction and the professions. As we are seeking to bolster the team with several Account Executives in the region, we welcome applications from junior Exec’s who can manage a portfolio of £5K-20K commission and fee income cases, through to more seasoned A/E’s to assume control of a portfolio larger corporate cases pertaining to complex businesses, some with overseas exposures. This broker controls one of the biggest portfolios in the North, including some of the region’s most prestigious firms; from blue chip PLC’s through to privately-owned companies run by self-made business people.
As our client is looking for several new Account Executives, the role really can be adjusted to suit. For example, more senior candidates may wish to join in position where they can use their expertise to help develop the technical knowledge of less-experienced colleagues, or shadow them on their client visits. Alternatively, some candidates may wish to join with a view of progressing in a managerial capacity in due course, or hope to be involved with projects or insurer relations, for example.
It’s worth noting that the focus for both the junior or more senior Account Executives is very much on the management of existing business, and that account modest account development targets should be readily achievable through organic growth and the cross / up selling of ancillary covers.
We’d hope that more senior applicants would have already made progress towards professional qualifications, but this is by no means a deal breaker and any new starters would benefit from a personal development plan and support toward studies under the CII.
You must be a confident, articulate communicator who is able to manage relationships with stakeholders from a variety of walks of life. You’ll be well-organised, able to prioritise a number of tasks, and have a keen eye for detail.
