Our client is a global insurance broker that is performing tremendously. Its Bristol branch arranges the insurance programmes of some of the largest and most complex firms in the South West and Wales, and the company boasts a name and brand that truly opens doors in the corporate world.
Following the recent promotion of the incumbent Head of Office, the business needs an accomplished manager to take ownership of the Bristol office’s strategy, as well as holding P&L accountability. You will lead a team of circa 20 insurance professionals, and become the brokerage’s ‘face’ in the local business community, as well representing the branch internally by building a strong network with colleagues from other areas of the business globally.
You will work with your team, ensuring that they remain engaged with the business’ goals and objectives, and progressing on their own development plans. Developing and maintaining a systematic approach to account planning, servicing and delivery, you’ll ensure the full utilisation of client management, sales, servicing and broking teams.
It is essential that you have solid people management and operational skills, coupled with a high degree of financial acumen in order to really understand the branch and help it continue to push forward in-line with the broker’s wider strategy.
You must have a detailed understanding of the insurance industry, and whilst we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with solid exposure to corporate broking, we do welcome applications from candidates from any insurance discipline (such as Underwriting, SME Broking, Risk Management or Loss Adjusting), who have the gravitas and intellect to ‘hold their own’ in the corporate insurance arena. We are very much looking for an “Inspirational Business Leader” who can bring fresh ideas and “challenge the status quo.” As there is an abundance of technical capability in the team, we are not looking for a Senior Account Executive – we require a ‘hands on’, ambitious and driven leader to take the business to new heights. In conjunction with your specialist teams, you must also be keen to develop new relationships and be the South West’s brand ambassador for this formidable broking giant.
