This is a superb opportunity to join one of the world’s largest insurance brokers and assume responsibility for the continued success of its UK private client business – a £4M+ income operation comprising circa 30 staff based over two service centres, plus remote workers.
This is an exciting time to be joining this thriving division as, whilst it already boasts an impressive portfolio of private client business, the Executive Board anticipates that this will be an area of formidable growth in coming years and are committing substantial resource to realising these ambitions.
The Private Clients portfolio comprises both High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth business; some of it standalone, and some connected to its corporate proposition (this broker has one of the UK’s largest corporate portfolios and arranges the insurance of many of the country’s largest listed and privately-owned businesses). Clients are both ‘old money and new wealth’ and include household names from the worlds of Sport, Business and Entertainment, as well as the family offices of royalty and other global dignitaries.
This is a challenging and high-profile position, where you will be tasked with developing and delivering the UK strategy across both new and existing business. Holding P&L responsibility, you will manage revenue and profit performance, ensuring the business has the right resources to deliver financial objectives. You’ll also make sure that that robust MI (i.e. renewal & retention data, accurate sales pipelining etc.) is in place to provide accurate forecasting, and for business cases to be prepared for future investments.
An inspirational leader with strong influencing skills, you will act as a divisional ambassador with both internal and external stakeholders, whether this be encouraging colleagues within the corporate arm of business to introduce members of the Private Clients Division to their clients, or attending HNW events to promote the business. Responsible for talent management across the UK Private Client business, you will retain, develop and attract talented individuals to the division, maintaining succession planning for key roles where necessary. Needless to say, you will also be responsible for leading, motivating and overseeing the performance management of all personnel to optimise individual and collective performance.
Whilst we are clearly keen to speak to senior insurance professionals from the Private Client discipline, we also welcome applications from high-performing applicants from other areas of insurance who have first-class technical, managerial and operational skills to help drive this business forward, coupled with the gravitas and communication skills to secure the buy in from U/HNW personnel from all walks of life.
This role can be home-based from anywhere in the UK, but will require travel to a number of offices and events across the country.
