Following the promotion of the incumbent Senior Corporate Account Handler, this global broking house is seeking additional technical firepower to join its team. This is a superb opportunity to join one of the most respected broking units in Yorkshire and handle some of the most demanding risks in the Leeds market.

This unit deals with corporate cases of all shapes and sizes, from those generating £20K income up to challenging risks with six- figure fees attached. Whilst there is scope to tweak your client allocation to reflect your skills, experience and ambitions, it is likely to include clients from a variety of sectors such as Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, Retail and Technology.

Working in close conjunction with Account Executives and Directors, you will be responsible for developing a sound understanding of your clients’ businesses in order to ensure they have a robust insurance programme. Where gaps in cover exist, you will produce professional and accurate reports that highlight appropriate solutions to mitigate these risks. Mindful that client service is key, the Branch Director will actively encourage you to accompany Account Executives onsite to build rapport with key personnel.

You will be responsible for negotiation with Underwriters (local and London Market) in order to obtain the most comprehensive cover at competitive premiums. As you would expect from a portfolio including big name, blue chip PLC’s, many of these clients have complex overseas exposures and require local representation, so you will be dealing with colleagues and partner brokers across the globe.

Whilst it is not essential that you have previously dealt with corporate accounts in the £20K - £100K income range, you must have experience of dealing with middle market business as a minimum. It is essential that you have a sound understanding of all common commercial covers, such as Property, Liability, BI, Fleet and Financial Lines. You should also have excellent communication and report writing skills, be well-organised and diligent in your approach. Whilst by no means essential, progress made towards processional qualifications under the CII would add weight to your application.

Our client is based in Leeds city centre, just minutes’ walk from the train station and close to numerous car parks and main bus routes. You will receive a generous basic salary (negotiable, but anticipated to be in the region of £35-42K) plus pension contributions of up to 12%, bonus, PMI and other flexible benefits such as discounted gym memberships. As you would expect, you will also receive support towards professional insurance qualifications.
