We have a remarkable opportunity for a Corporate Account Executive to join a world-leading global insurance broker.
There are few operators in the corporate broking market that can rival this company’s offering, which is why its enviable client list includes some of the world’s best-known household name organisations.
Upon joining the company, you will inherit a book of general corporate business generating in the region of £1M in fee income, comprising clients from a wide range of industry sectors, including but not limited to, Property, Hospitality, IT and Construction. The account can be tailored to your specific experience, strengths and aspirations, but you can expect to be dealing with somewhere in between 8 - 20 large clients including UK corporates and global inward accounts. These companies all require highly specialised risk advice and a truly consultative service.
You’ll be looking after companies with a turnover typically between £50 million – £1 billion and in most cases, you’ll be dealing directly with Finance Directors and Company Secretaries, as opposed to In-House Insurance Teams. As such, this role will give you real ownership of your accounts, and a heightened level of exposure in comparison to other corporate insurance teams, where Account Executives can often be more of an ‘administrative cog in a large machine.’ You’ll have a great deal of flexibility with regards to how you manage your clients’ insurance programmes, and this role offers a great deal of variation, where no two days are the same. The Director of this division describes this role as akin to, “running your own business, with the support of a world-leading organisation.”
As expected, you’ll be supported by a highly competent broking team, who will handle your administrative requirements, and you will also have access to a wide range of product experts throughout the organisation, who will be able to assist you with any particular specialist insurance needs.
It is essential that you have experience of dealing with large corporate clients and that you are a truly consultative operator; someone who, aside from dealing with the day to day insurance responsibilities of an Account Executive, can identify clients’ specific challenges and issues, and go out of their way to solve these. The Director cites, “We are not looking for sales people – we are looking for an Account Manager with a commercial mind.” Whilst you will be dealing with a range of general corporate covers, fundamentally, your technical insurance knowledge will at least need to cover, Property, Liability and Motor, as a minimum.
Given the nature of these valuable, long-standing accounts, you’ll have a successful track record of retaining corporate insurance business, backed up with first-class relationship management skills.
