The company has made a conscious decision to accelerate its growth and is assembling an “All Star Cast” at the top level. We are looking for 2 Business Development Managers (one North of Birmingham and one South of Birmingham). If you reside near to the company’s Head Office in the North West, there is scope for this position to develop into a Sales Director position, with the opportunity to join the board and take the lead of the overall sales function. However, wherever you live, with this being a growing sales team, there is great scope for this role to develop regardless.
Reporting directly the MD, you will be responsible for generating business from existing broker partners, as well as acting as the relationship manager when it comes to solving issues and dealing with more unusual enquiries. Other duties will include the timely reporting of activity, productivity and results to the board, as well as attending exhibitions and other relevant corporate events. This company’s unique business model makes for a really interesting and consultative Business Development Manager position, where you will be involved in assisting with partners’ business plans, strategy and marketing.
Rest assured that this is NOT a “head in the Yellow Pages sales role” – this organisation is very well-engrained within the UK broker market, and you will nurturing further business from existing connections.

It is essential that you have previous experience within a B2B sales / business development role within the insurance industry, with demonstrable success of dealing with brokers. Just as importantly, you’ll have well-honed client-facing skills, and the ability to secure strong buy-in from a wide range of personalities. You will thrive on achieving set targets and be able to work within the compliance restrictions of a regulated business.
You’ll be given a great deal of autonomy to do what you do best, and refreshingly, this is not a micro-management organisation.
You’ll be rewarded with a basic salary of up to £45K plus company car, lucrative bonus scheme, and a range of other benefits.
