An award-winning, boutique law firm has an exciting opportunity for an Insurance Claims Consultant to join its experienced insurance coverage team in Leeds.

With offices in London and Leeds, this legal firm specialises in insurance dispute work and exists to level the playing field for policyholders. Only ever acting for the insured (never insurers), the company provides the highest quality insurance advice and represents policyholders in complex and high value coverage disputes with their insurance companies.

Being a market-leader within this specialist niche, the firm is very much the ‘go to’ legal firm for insurance brokers, from whom it generates a great deal of business. In addition, its online presence also generates the company a continuous stream of enquiries.

Working within the Non-Legal Insurance Consultancy & Advocacy Team, you’ll assist policyholders with insurance coverage disputes that may be eligible for referral to the Financial Ombudsman Service. This team is expanding due to high demand for its services and unprecedented levels of new enquiries, which makes this a particularly exciting time to join.

You will enjoy dealing with a varied mix of both private and commercial work, spanning a range of insurance classes, and there will be plenty of opportunities to expand and develop your own areas of expertise as the team grows.

You should be able to demonstrate experience of contentious policy coverage disputes, including an awareness of the Financial Ombudsman Service, litigation, and other forms of dispute resolution. Just as importantly, you’ll be highly motivated, technically-excellent, and creative when it comes to resolving coverage disputes.

We are considering applications from candidates from an insurer, broking or loss adjusting background, who have considerable experience of dealing with a variety of claims, including Property losses. Professional qualifications under the CII or CILA would certainly add weight to your application.

Whilst this firm is a boutique business and has no aspirations to be a ‘corporate’, it does have exciting growth plans, which offers attractive opportunities for those who are wanting to progress. The leaders of the firm employ the ‘Netflix ethos’ – your career is in your own hands within the business and you will be given all the tools and support you need in order to realise your ambitions. With the Leeds operation being an expanding regional office, this is certainly a good opportunity for someone who is looking to make their mark, and you’ll be free from a lot of the red tape, bureaucracy and barriers that exist within some of the larger, corporate practices.

This role reports into the Leeds city centre office, but this firm was promoting flexible-working long before the pandemic. As such, whilst you will of course be welcome in the office as much as you like, you will be able to work some days from home.

You will be rewarded with an attractive basic salary, together with a range of company benefits including a substantial holiday allowance.
