Gifted insurance professionals seeking a challenging role to utilise their industry knowledge will surely relish the opportunity to join this prestigious global broker’s dedicated Technical Team.

This specialist division assists colleagues from across the whole organisation, is involved with a number of fascinating projects, and provides support on some of the largest clients in the company’s portfolio. Accounts you’ll be dealing with are typically UK domiciled and comprise both FTSE100’s and some of the largest privately-owned companies in the country, many of which have complex, global insurance arrangements.

This role has arisen as a result of the amalgamation of two positions within the Technical Team. As such, this is effectively a new, senior position, where you will have far-reaching influence across the brokerage and its clients’ businesses.

Working in a highly collaborative fashion, you will help coordinate colleagues from across the brokerage, ensuring that a unified proposition is delivered to corporate clients. This will include analysing wordings and coverage, carrying out policy reviews and comparisons, and collaborating with the market to create standardised wordings.

You will proactively research and analyse industry news, trends and emerging risks, in order to provide high quality thought leadership and articles, as well as helping to identify and develop new products and services. You will also help to create a variety of documentation, from business templates and training material, through to reports on competitor and insurer activity /propositions.

With a sense of gravitas and authority, you will assist with the management of relationships with external stakeholders such as professional bodies like the CII and BIBA.

As well as candidates from the corporate broking world, we welcome applications from all areas of the industry such as Underwriting, Claims and Risk Management. However, it is essential that you are a subject matter specialist on both Property & Casualty business with exposure to corporate clients (ideally including global risks), and that you have a knowledge of the trading styles of sophisticated insurance buyers.

You must be a wordings expert who is able to draft, interpret and negotiate policies. You should also be well-organised with excellent task management skills, and the ability to work on a number of complex projects simultaneously. As expected in a role like this, you’ll be highly analytical and detailed-oriented, with the ability to drill down on a subject and report your findings.

It is anticipated that you will be FCII or ACII qualified, although we are certainly willing to consider applications from outstanding candidates who have chosen not to pursue qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute.

This is a home-based role, and you can be based anywhere in the UK. However, there are some client-facing duties involved, which means you will likely have to attend occasional meetings in London.

In return, you will receive a generous basic salary (negotiable, depending on experience), plus car allowance and a market-leading pension arrangement. You will also benefit from a comprehensive ‘flexible benefits’ package that can be tweaked to suit your circumstances.
