Aston Charles has been exclusively appointed by one of the top UK insurance brokers to source a Head of Specialist Insurance for its expanding division.
This prestigious company has a proud history of serving the Education, Charity and Not-For-Profit sectors, together with an enviable client base including some very well-known concerns. As a result of continued investment, we are seeking a driven, senior insurance professional to lead this team and drive further income in-line with the company’s strategic business plan.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, this is a key role where you will have major influence, as well as regular contact with the CEO of this major broking concern who very much welcomes new ideas.
Working in collaboration with your team, as well as with many other stakeholders across the business, your role will be focussed on the growth of new business. Your duties will include, but not be limited to leading, developing and growing the team, ensuring adherence to advised sales best practice and regulation, as well as developing and maintaining high-level professional relationships with clients. As a sector specialist, you’ll provide inciteful thought leadership, whilst creating and delivering a successful new business and cross-sales strategy. You’ll also manage key insurer relationships to achieve mutual partnership growth and take responsibility for adopting process efficiencies.
You will have a proven track record of driving and delivering significant profitable business growth. Preferably, this will include serving the Education and Not-For-Profit markets, however, we will also consider talented candidates from other related areas such as the Public Sector or Housing Associations. With an entrepreneurial mindset, you’ll have a desire to build the business and visibly make your mark within the market. It is essential that you have experience of pitching to clients with complex insurance requirements, together with an understanding of tender processes and the buying styles of entities within these specialist sectors. You’ll have first-class presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.

The company operates a hybrid working arrangement and as such, we welcome candidates from all across the UK. However, you must be comfortable with semi-regular attendance at our client’s head office in the South West.
You will be rewarded with a remuneration package “to attract the best” (entirely negotiable depending on experience), but this is likely to be a six-figure basic salary, together with a performance-related bonus and range of company benefits.
