You’ll be reporting into one of our client’s highest-performing and most prominent offices, which deals with major corporate accounts spanning a wide range of fascinating industries. This branch’s clients are typically international concerns including FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, and individual fees range from £75K up to the largest client that pays in the region of £800K.
Having spoken at length with the Branch Director, this is very much a top-performing team, which is continuing to generate extremely impressive year on year growth.
Providing a highly sophisticated insurance offering, the team caters for fascinating sectors including, but by no means limited to the likes of Travel, BioScience, Tech’, IT, Leisure, Heavy Manufacturing, Entertainment, Media and Distribution. In addition, the team are also becoming specialists within fascinating emerging sectors such as the “Sharing Economy”. As such, this is certainly an innovative business, which encourages entrepreneurial insurance professionals who wish to explore particular areas of the market.
Upon joining the company, you will allocated a portfolio of 6 / 7 corporate clients, for which you will take overall responsibility. This portfolio can be designed to suit your sector strengths, experience and ambitions. For example, if you major in Property Insurance, you could be allocated the account of one of the largest Property Owners in the world. If you are a Professions specialist, you could inherit a formidable Tech’ company that pays circa £250K for its D&O cover alone! Our client is very much open to the successful candidate’s insurance sector background, and they will also consider talented Account Directors / Execs from a Lloyd’s broking background.
Working in conjunction with a highly competent broking team, you will ensure that your clients remain adequately insured, and you will build very strong relationships with them in order to fully understand and satisfy their future requirements in line with their sophisticated business plans. As Account Director and ‘trusted adviser’ to your clients, you will be involved with formulating the strategy for your accounts, selecting complementary divisions and specialists with whom to involve, and you’ll keep yourself well abreast of market developments within your clients’ specialist sectors in order to stay ‘ahead of the curve’ from a risk perspective.
You’ll be working with an extremely knowledgeable, commercially-minded and financially-aware team who are able to command the respect of hugely complex corporate concerns; as an example, Tech’ companies who want to list on the NASDAQ that require particular expertise in this area. As such, we are very much looking for someone who can complement this technical expertise – a credible company ambassador who can operate effectively, and have meaningful and intelligent conversations at C-Suite level with the likes of FTSE250s.
Whilst this role reports into a South East office, our client is very open to the location of the successful candidate, as long as they are prepared to attend the office, perhaps once a week / fortnight. Having said that, you will be expected to attend regular client and internal stakeholder visits.
