The Coventry branch of this global broker is well known for promoting from within, and whilst it usually transacts much larger corporate risks, likes to maintain a smaller portfolio of SME clients in order to ‘grow their own’ Corporate Brokers of the future.
Here, you will assume control of a portfolio that generates circa £100K in commission income. Individual clients typically range from £1,000 - £10,000 in premium spend, and come from a range of industry sectors such as Shops, Offices, Contractors, Property owners etc. Over time, you will gain exposure to more complex, larger risks, with a view to becoming a fully-fledged Corporate Account Manager in time.
As an SME Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing relationships with your clients, building a sound rapport with key personnel and developing an understanding of the risks their businesses face. You will ensure your accounts are sufficiently covered, answer any day to enquiries, and deal with mid-term amendments. In addition, you will conduct all renewal exercises.
It is essential that you have experience of commercial insurance (gained in either a broking or underwriting capacity), and a good basic knowledge of common commercial covers. You must have a superb telephone manner and pride yourself on delivering an exceptional level of client service.
You should also be well-organised, with good task management skills and superb attention to detail.
In return, you will receive a generous basic salary (negotiable, but anticipated to be £23K-27K), plus a comprehensive range of benefits, including support towards professional qualifications.
This firm is based just north of Coventry, near the M6, and has extensive free parking on site. It is reviewing its approach to agile-working, and it is feasible that a portion of your week could be spent working from home once you are up to speed.
