It is no secret that mergers and acquisitions M&A activity is on the increase as the country gets used to life, post-pandemic. As a result, this global broking house’s specialist M&A Team is thriving and, accordingly, is investing heavily in the division; both in terms of making high calibre hires and further strengthening its infrastructure to ensure it remains recognised as the pre-eminent M&A practice in the country. This is a superb opportunity to join a thriving business that is staffed by a collaborative and forward-thinking team of gifted insurance professionals.

Here, you will be working closely with privately-owned and publicly-listed businesses, including P/E firms that are fully committed to acquiring business from a range of industry sectors and of all sizes. Working on both reliance and non-reliance due diligence projects, your duties will include (but by no means be limited to) scrutinising target companies’ insurance programmes and ensuring they are fit for purpose, identifying if the purchasers are likely to inherit liabilities, and advising on the best way to integrate (or not!) both parties’ insurance programmes, post-acquisition.

As a technical broking expert, you will also help colleagues in New Business teams prepare reports on prospects’ current insurance programmes, identifying deficiencies on competing brokers’ arrangements, and suggesting innovative solutions to improve these. You will also produce reports supporting your findings, highlighting potential outcomes / consequences and making recommendations for change.

Whilst you need not be working exclusively on due diligence projects at present, as you will be dealing with some high-profile businesses with large, multi-line insurance programmes and complex exposures, it is essential that you have experience of providing due diligence and a sound understanding of the M&A market. You should also have excellent communication skills and be able to relay complex insurance information to a variety of stakeholders. You’ll also be a team player who enjoys working to shared goals and objectives.

This is a home-based opportunity that will require occasional visits to regional offices.

In return, you will receive a generous basic salary that is completely negotiable, alongside a competitive bonus and a market-leading, flexible-benefits package that can be tweaked to suit your own circumstances. You will also benefit from a very rewarding culture, working on fascinating projects in a highly professional team. As expected, working for a global broking giant, you will also have access to a wide variety of career advancement opportunities.
