In the counties either side of the English / Welsh border, this broker is very much known as a local name; a firm you can trust, and one that understands the issues faced by those who live and work in rural areas.

It is a long-established and much respected broker that has crafted a fine reputation for delivering the highest levels of service to its commercial, agricultural and personal lines clients alike. Central to this commitment to client service is its clear focus on professionalism, honesty and integrity – all underpinned by a robust Compliance function.

As Compliance Manager, you will report to the board and, overseeing 6 regional offices, be responsible for ensuring that all colleagues’ activities adhere to FCA regulations, recognised industry best practice and inhouse protocols.

On an ongoing basis, you will comprehensively review the company’s activities against an everchanging regularity landscape, keeping abreast of latest developments. As well as advising the board on necessary changes to be made, you will be responsible for the supervision of colleagues, auditing their work and, where necessary, managing performance and / or delivering training. Where necessary, you will overhaul inhouse documentation and training material, as well as scrutinising marketing literature and the company website to ensure compliance.

This is a highly visible role where you will be a senior member of the team, acting as ‘champion of all things compliance’. You must have a real sense of energy and enthusiasm; a compliance ambassador who is able to motivate and educate colleagues at all levels as to the benefits of compliance best practice.

As you would expect, it is essential that you have extensive experience in either commercial or agricultural insurance and have previously worked in a heavily compliance-orientated position. You must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with and influence a variety of stakeholders at all levels, ensuring they remain focused on delivering compliance.

You must be well-organised with excellent task management skills, meticulous in your approach, and be able to manage a varied workload without ‘taking your eye off the ball’.

This role can be based either from one of a number of regional offices, or if you prefer, you can work from home 3 days per week. You will be required to attend other offices across the region on occasion.

In return, you will receive a generous basic salary (negotiable, depending on experience, but anticipated to be £35K-45K) plus a comprehensive range of company benefits, including support towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute.
