A highly reputable, boutique IFA firm based in the Leatherhead area is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to support Advisers with their existing client banks.
This is a small, but well-established business, which has been providing holistic financial planning services for over 30 years. With funds under management of circa £70 million and 5 members of staff, this is a profitable firm with a loyal client bank. Staff members particularly enjoy the company’s traditional values and the working environment that is free from some of the bureaucracy that can often be found in larger, more ‘corporate’ establishments.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Advisers, undertaking research both independently and in conjunction with the Financial Planner to identify suitable products to meet the clients’ needs. You’ll also prepare and produce clear and concise recommendation reports and suitability letters, as well as ensuring that all client information and files remain compliant.
You must be an effective communicator (both verbal and written), as you will liaise directly with some clients, as well as providing an interface with third parties. You’ll have some previous paraplanning experience, and whilst not absolutely essential, ideally, this will be backed up with some professional qualifications. Attributes such as good organisational, time management and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to effectively prioritise and plan your own workload, are considered prerequisite.
Because this is a small independent business, you can take the role as far as you like. Our client is happy for someone to remain as a ‘Career Paraplanner’, but will be equally happy to help you transition into an Adviser role, should this be a route that you wish to pursue.
