We are delighted to be representing one of the world’s top corporate insurance brokers, which is seeking a talented Technical Broker within its specialist M&A Division.

Our client’s Mergers & Acquisition team is very much a rapidly growing area, and it is making high profile appointments throughout the country in order to capitalise on exciting developments within this arena. Focussing on the high-end corporate market (typically with clients paying insurance premiums between £200K and £3m), this company is well-known in the M&A arena, where it holds strong relationships within the Legal and Private Equity markets.

Working in close conjunction with this specialist team, you will provide highly technical reviews of the insurance programmes pertaining to organisations that your clients have identified for potential purchase. Conducting in-depth due diligence, you will scrutinise the current coverage to assess if assets are adequately insured, highlighting any gaps in cover and making any suitable recommendations. Also, working alongside claims specialists, you will analyse previous claims histories to help understand any potential future losses, which could potentially leave your clients, ‘high and dry’, post acquisition. As part of this role, you may also be tasked with providing strategic insurance reviews for clients outside of the M&A Team, whom will benefit from your technical expertise in order to retain or secure corporate risks.

It is essential that you are very much a wordings specialist, and that you enjoy scrutinising insurance policies and programmes. You’ll have significant experience of analysing a wide range of corporate insurance covers, backed up with strong technical knowledge of a wide range of insurance classes (including, but not limited to Property, Liability, Motor and Financial Lines). It is likely that you will have made significant progress with professional insurance qualifications, although extremely technically-competent candidates, who have not decided to pursue these, will be considered. As well as producing in-depth and comprehensive insurance reports, our client is looking for someone who has the ability to produce aesthetically-pleasing documentation / PowerPoint presentations, in order to effectively communicate complex information, to a non-insurance audience, in a way that they can easily digest and understand.
