A prestigious commercial insurance broker based in Bolton is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Claims Handler to strengthen its existing specialist claims division.

This organisation is renowned for providing a first-class broking service to the commercial and corporate market and has a strong presence, both in the North West and nationally. The company’s revenue has increased circa 25% over the last 12 months (way out-performing many of its contemporaries), and as such, this offers many opportunities for its staff.

Based from superb offices in Bolton, you will look after the day-to-day claims handling of your client portfolio, guiding them through the claims process and providing your expert opinion on the best course of action for all parties.

Working within the specialist Claims team, this internal based role provides a key added-value service to existing clients. You will produce regular claims reports for your clients, detailing accurate claims experiences and identifying trends in order to minimise the future risk. You will also work closely with your Account Executives in order to present claims in the best possible light at quotation and renewal stage, liaising with loss adjusters, solicitors and policyholders, as required.

Our client is looking for someone who is very proactive when it comes to managing claims; someone who is comfortable in challenging insurers’ reserves, suggesting ways to prevent further losses, and providing a truly consultative service within the commercial/ corporate market. Dealing with clients paying premiums typically between £100K and £1M, you will handle a wide range of commercial claims including Property, Liability, Business Interruption, Financial lines and others, which makes this a very varied, interesting and challenging role.

Ideally, you will have experience of handling claims within a commercial / corporate broking environment, although talented candidates from insurer / loss adjusting backgrounds will be considered. You’ll be confident in dealing with a wide range of clients including Managing Directors and Financial Directors and as such, you will possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written. A good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office packages is essential.
