This role has arisen with one of the most exciting Insurance Mergers & Acquisitions teams in the world. As a result of significant ongoing growth, this prestigious broking house is seeking a talented Senior Business Development Executive to expand its market share within the Private Equity M&A market.
Our client is part of one of the largest broking groups in the world, from which it benefits from its enormous buying power, impressive infrastructure and insurer relationships. The M&A Team is one of the most profitable divisions within the group, generating annual revenues of circa £80M and growing. Operating as a subsidiary business, and with an independent mindset, this is a highly entrepreneurial and exciting organisation to be part of, and there could not be a more opportune time to join the firm.
With 10 global offices throughout the UK, Europe and Asia, this company is involved with some of the most high-profile Mergers and Acquisition deals in the world and is regarded by its clients very much as a trusted M&A Advisory business. Offering a wide range of M&A insurance covers, including Warranty & Indemnity Insurance, as well as range of other Specific Risks products, there are few M&A Insurance brokers in the market that can rival this company’s offering.
Working strategically from a targeted list of private equity funds, you will be responsible for building relationships and, with time, originating deals. You’ll also assist in identifying relevant opportunities for new business generation, which will include assessing and mapping new markets, growth areas, prospects, trends and services. As part of your role, you’ll organise and set up relevant seminars, events and client entertainment through your network, as well as holding client management responsibility for certain existing private equity fund and external advisor relationships. We must stress that this is not a hardcore, cold calling type sales role; our client is known to most of the Private Equity Houses and as such, this is very much a "warm, consulative sell."
It is NOT ESSENTIAL that you are currently an Insurance Broker within the M&A market because our client is flexible in terms of experience. Ideally, you will have experience of dealing with the Private Equity market (with an understanding of how funds are structured and deals are transacted), but we will also consider applicants who have sold to similar audiences. Crucially, you will be a quick learner who is keen to understand the nature of business, the product suite, and how those products can add value to private equity transactions. You’ll be selling, “sophisticated products to sophisticated buyers”, and as such, you’ll have the gravitas and credibility to gain buy-in from the likes of senior Investment Managers of prestigious PE firms. You’ll have strong business development and networking skills, with a proven ability to drive performance from key accounts and develop new relationships. Business development within this company is very much a collaborative approach, and as such, you’ll have a real team ethos, and a passion for working towards shared goals.
You’ll be working from superb offices in the City of London, which operates a flexible-working arrangement, allowing you to work 2/3 days a week from home.
Given the impressive growth of this business, it offers amazing opportunities for career-advancement, both within the M&A arena, as well as within the wider insurance group, both nationally and across the globe.
You’ll be rewarded with a basic salary of up to £80K (Negotiable, depending on experience), plus an annual bonus allowing genuine on target earnings in the region of £100K+. In addition, you’ll have access to a market-leading benefits package that is to be expected from a top global organisation.
