As a result of a Director relocating abroad, a rare board-level position has arisen with one of Yorkshire’s most prominent Independent Financial Advisory firms.

Our client, employing approximately 30 staff, has a turnover of circa £2.5M comprising predominantly renewable income. The firm has been trading very successfully for circa 50 years and is well-renowned in the Yorkshire community (and beyond) for providing a very high level of client service across as range of financial services areas.

“We are not a sales-orientated business that is here to squeeze every penny out of our clients, nor charge them excessive fees. We are here to look after our customers and do the best possible job we can for them, which is why we have held most of our clients for a very long time”, says the Managing Director.

This is a hybrid role, where you will inherit and service a manageable book of High Net Worth HNW clients, and you will also sit on the board, where you will play an integral role in the running of the business.

In terms of your Financial Advisor responsibilities, you will inherit a book of predominantly Pensions and Investments-related business for clients with funds under management in excess of £500K, although many clients have significantly larger funds than this. You’ll benefit from full paraplanning and administrative support from a highly-experienced team, allowing you to focus properly on the advice process.

In terms of your board-level responsibilities, these are flexible depending on your previous experience and personal strengths. You’ll attend board meetings, assist your Co-Directors with solving any current issues, and assist with future business planning. You may also assist with helping your colleagues in the Corporate team, as well as having an input into the efficient running of the Paraplanning and Admin team.

Because this is a senior position within this IFA firm, in order to gain the buy-in from existing staff (as well as your clients), you must be a technically-proficient Financial Adviser, with experience of handling complex Pension and Investment matters. Just as importantly, in order to fit in with the culture of this company, you’ll be highly ethical, approachable, a team player, and you’ll have a passion for achieving excellence.

The MD goes on to say, “this is a very stable business, where IFAs can enjoy a long and rewarding career within a very pleasant working environment.”

You’ll be rewarded with a basic salary of up to circa £70K, plus a significant discretionary annual bonus (based on company performance), and a car / car allowance. In addition, there is an equity stake available from an equity pot that is specifically reserved for Board Directors.

Whilst writing, due to future succession planning, our client is also looking for (Non-Director) Independent Financial Advisors, which will involve inheriting a quality book of longstanding clients (Attractive package negotiable depending on previous experience).
