This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated insurance professional with first-class leadership skills to further their career with one of Manchester’s most dynamic broking houses.

This broker is proud of its reputation for providing its clients with an unrivalled service, and its employees the platform to excel in all areas of their careers. This broker’s empowering and client-centric approach is clearly reaping dividends, and it is pleased to announce that it is well on track to double in size by 2020.

Whilst this firm controls a diverse portfolio of clients from both blue and white collar industries (many with premium spends well in excess of £1M), it does tend to shy away from Construction and some other high risk Liability trades. Its focus is very much on well managed, ‘clean’ risks - Professional Services or Tech’ firms turning over in excess of £10M being good examples of the makeup of its corporate portfolio.

The company seeks an inspirational Team Leader that shares its ambitious and dynamic approach to assume responsibility for an established team of Corporate Account Handlers.  As this team comprises high performing, professional and motivated insurance professionals, the focus is very much on improving on the Department’s already high standards, rather than overhauling a distressed or delinquent team.

You will be responsible for the day to day management of the team, such as allocating workloads, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring that the Corporate Unit continues to function as a ‘well-oiled machine’..  In addition, you will manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, being involved in various projects and identifying opportunities to improve processes throughout the business.

You will also personally manage a smaller portfolio of corporate clients, which will include preparing renewal work and dealing with key mid-term adjustments.  Whilst this portfolio may be tweaked to reflect any areas of expertise and interest, it is essential that you have previous commercial broking experience and knowledge of all common commercial classes such as Property, Liability, Commercial Combined and Financial Lines. In order to secure ‘buy in’ from team members and clients alike, progress made towards professional qualifications would add significant weight to your application.  Ideally, you will have managed a team previously, however we welcome applications from candidates who have some limited exposure to management (such as being an Assistant Team Leader or deputising in a Line Manager’s absence) who believe they have strong leadership qualities.

In return, you can expect a highly competitive basic salary and benefits package, support towards professional qualifications, and a very exciting working environment amongst like-minded professionals.

For those not seeking a leadership-orientated position, this broker is also seeking to appoint Senior Brokers / Account Handlers to join its Corporate Unit in more technical positions.  For more information, please contact Richard Jones at Aston Charles.
