This thriving, entrepreneurial commercial brokerage seeks an Account Handler to join its highly successful SME Division.
This respected business is seeking to appoint experienced insurance professionals that share its client-centric ethos and obligation to delivering industry leading service standards. As such, it is essential that you have made progress towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute, or can demonstrate a commitment to commencing studies.
Our client is willing to consider Commercial Account Handlers with all levels of experience, from SME Handlers to time served Corporate Brokers with a demonstrable track record of looking after larger accounts. However, it is anticipated that in time, and where necessary with appropriate training, you will be managing a diverse portfolio that includes accounts generating premiums up to, and in excess of six figures. With this in mind, you must be comfortable advising on a range of commercial covers such as Commercial Combined, Property, Liability and Fleet, as well as being confident in dealing with more complex cases now, or in the medium term at the very least.
In this varied role, your duties will include dealing with renewals, making mid-term amendments, negotiating with insurers, dealing with enquires and issuing documents. Whilst this is a servicing orientated position with no sales targets attached, a “trader’s mentality” or entrepreneurial mind-set would be advantageous as our client is keen to hear from candidates who are keen to cross / up sell ancillary covers and suggest ways in which the brokerage can develop in new areas.
Our client is well-known in the local market for encouraging internal promotion and boasts of many success stories of employees who started in similar positions, and have progressed to become Account Executives, Senior Brokers or be assumed managerial positions with 12-24 months. This role will therefore suit any ambitious Account Handlers seeking progression opportunities that are simply unavailable at many competing firms.
Our client has free, onsite parking, and due to the proximity of the motorway network and main arterial roads, is a feasible commute to candidates from across Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield.
