A fast-growing, dynamic insurer, operating in the UK commercial insurance market is looking to appoint a Business Development Assistant within its Birmingham Branch.

In this rare and challenging role, you will be a conduit between the Underwriting Team and the panel of high quality brokers it engages with, as well as providing branch performance updates to the General/ Sales Manager. The position holds responsibility for ensuring that you identify the specific needs of particular clients, and communicate these effectively to the team in order to help them secure business. Furthermore, you will provide the offers to clients, and manage the offer fulfilment process. A major part of the role will be to build strong relationships with the broker panel, both over the telephone and, as you gain experience, face to face. You will also have responsibility for ensuring that all relevant systems are updated throughout the process, to maintain the integrity of highly valuable data.

This role will suit applicants who are keen to develop a career in insurance sales. It is preferable that you have some insurance industry experience, although this is not essential. Importantly, you must have a flexible approach and be open to new ways of working. You must also be ambitious and a quick learner, with a genuine desire to carve a rewarding career with a firm that enjoys doing things differently. It is all about ‘team fit’, possessing a ‘can do’ mentality and working hard in return for a chance to learn the art of sales within a fast growing and highly respected insurance company.
