The Leeds office transacts all common commercial covers and arranges insurance on behalf of clients from a wide variety of industries. Although, it is fair to say that it is regarded as market leaders in several core sectors, where it is recognised as the ‘broker of choice’ with clients including pioneering start-ups through to the best known entities in the respective disciplines.
Due to the continued acquisition of quality accounts, the need has arisen for an experienced insurance professional to join the team in a senior capacity. True to form, this innovative and creative business is receptive to applications from incumbent Commercial and Broking Managers as well as Senior Handlers and Brokers who are looking to make that next stage in their career.
In this role, you will work in close conjunction with the Branch Director. You will personally undertake some Account Handling duties, typically in relation to the re-broking of complex cases and key accounts. You will also be responsible for a small team of Senior Account Handlers & Brokers including allocating workloads, acting as a technical referral point, file checking and generally ensuring the smooth running of the department. It is envisioned that you will act as the Branch Director’s no 2, and manage the office in their absence.
It is essential that you have extensive experience within the commercial insurance market, gained within either a broking or underwriting capacity. You must also have some managerial / supervisory experience, or at the very least a demonstrable track record as a Senior Account Handler or Broker. You must be detail orientated and naturally curious with a passion for understanding the nuances of niche industries. It is also essential that you are a polished communicator and able to build rapport with a clients and other stakeholder’s from all walks of life.
Our client is completely open to the remuneration on offer, but as this is a key new role within the business our client volunteered a basic salary up to, and potentially in excess of, £60K. In addition, you can enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including support towards professional qualifications. Reasonably close to the region’s main arterial roads, it is a feasible commute to clients from across the North. It is worth noting that this position comes with a free designated parking space.
