In order to secure the best talent, not only will our client provide the requisite residential licenses (enabling you to live and work on the Island), but you will also benefit from an allowance to assist with costs associated with relocation.
Our client has been trading for several generations, and in that time has crafted a fine reputation for the quality of its staff and the innovative insurance solutions on offer to its clients. Its portfolio includes some of the most respected and coveted insurance accounts on the islands, from household name corporates through to the HNW insurance accounts of well-known personalities from the worlds of business, sport and media.
Here, you will inherit a portfolio of commercial and corporate clients. Whilst the exact makeup of this account can be tweaked to reflect your skills, experience and ambitions, it is likely to stand at total commission / fee income of £300K. Clients are likely to be very diverse, from both blue and white-collar industries, and ranging from Construction and Contractors through to Financial Institutions and Trusts. Whilst the vast majority of clients are domiciled in the Chanel Islands, many of the insurance programmes will include risks based in mainland UK and globally.
As a senior member of the company, you will sit on the management team and have a real say in the direction of the business and, accordingly, hold a high profile within the firm. Depending on your previous management experience, your additional duties could include formal management of other Account Executives, or simply just acting as a technical referral point to less experienced colleagues.
It is worth stressing that this role is very much geared towards the servicing of the existing account, although you will be supported in your endeavours to build up a professional network within the Channel Islands in order to secure new business referrals and recommendations. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have innovative ideas on how to secure new business from the Chanel Islands’ Financial institutions and Trusts Sector.
This role would suit someone intending to make a permanent relocation, or commit to a smaller duration in order to benefit from the local tax code, and return to the mainland in years to come having built up a significant nest egg and a specialist knowledge of some interesting areas of insurance that will be massively transferable to subsequent jobs.
It is essential that you have a sound understanding of all common commercial covers, including Property, Liability and Fleet, etc. It is anticipated that you have made significant progress towards professional qualifications under the CII, but we do welcome applications from outstanding candidates who can demonstrate a genuine commitment to commencing studies.
Alongside a generous and completely negotiable salary (anticipated to be £55K - £60K), you will receive a generous befits package including a lucrative commission structure. Further details on the Channel Islands’ tax codes can be provided on request.
