One of the longest standing names in the West Yorkshire broking community seeks an experienced Account Handler to join its thriving Commercial Department.
Working in a friendly and supportive environment, you will handle an allocation of commercial accounts. Clients will be from a wide range of industry sectors, such as Manufacturing, Leisure and the Professions. It is fair to say that this broker is perhaps best known for its strength in the Property Owners sector, so you should expect a number of these accounts in your allocation. Clients typically pay premiums of up to £50K, although our client is also keen to speak to candidates who would like to handle some of the larger accounts in the business (in excess of six figures GWP).
This is very a close-knit team, where everyone is happy to pitch in with any duties - even the Managers are happy to help with administration or ‘doing the post run’ if needs be. For example, you may also be asked on occasion to help with the High Net Worth insurances pertaining to the Directors of your clients’ homes and vehicles.
Keeping in touch with your clients throughout the lifecycle of their policies, you will be on hand to answer any general enquiries, deal with mid-term amendments and handle renewal work. You will prepare reports and assist Account Executives with any documentation that they need preparing. You will also be responsible for negotiating with Underwriters from a range of insurance companies.
You must have a sound knowledge of all common commercial covers, including Commercial Combined, Property, Liability, Fleets etc. You must also have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. It is also essential that you have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
