Prestigious independent insurance broker based in West Yorkshire has a rare opportunity for a Claims Manager to join its highly successful claims operation.

This broker has a well-deserved reputation for providing a comprehensive broking, claims and risk management service to its diverse client base. It is fiercely committed to remaining independent, boasts a fantastic working environment, a talented management team, and superb offices in which to work from.

You will be responsible for leading and motivating a well-established team of Commercial Claims Handlers, who deal with a varied caseload, including but not limited to, Motor Fleet, Property and Employers’ and Public Liability claims. Whilst you will not have an active caseload, you will be responsible for the high value/ contentious files. In addition to the day to day running of the team, you will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring staff, and ensuring that personal development plans are fulfilled. You will effectively empower the Claims Handlers, granting them autonomy in accordance with their technical capabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity if you’re a Team Leader, seeking that next step in your career, as you will be the ‘face’ of claims for this broker, leading claims reviews and meetings with key clients. In addition, you will also attend new business/ tender meetings in conjunction with Account Executives and Directors, highlighting the capabilities and strengths of the claims offering.

It is essential that you possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record of building highly motivated and productive teams. You will have significant experience of working within a claims broking environment as either an existing Claims Manager or Claims Executive. It is of upmost importance that you have an entrepreneurial approach, together with the ability to devise innovative solutions that will ultimately maximise performance efficiency. You will also have excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload.
