A leading broker who continues to enjoy organic growth seeks to expand their Risk Management Division with the appointment of a home-based Risk Management Consultant, based in the Birmingham area.

Although some brokers have a Risk Management offering, it is commonly outsourced or even promoted as an afterthought. Very few embrace Risk Management with any kind of real commitment but this broker recognises that offering its clients a bespoke Risk Management and Health & Safety programme is a crucial, value added service, which helps mitigate the risk of claims that can be so costly, disruptive and time consuming for a business. It encourages all of its clients to undertake reviews of their policies by educating them of the features and benefits of a Risk Management programmes in a consultative fashion, in contrast to the normal ‘hard sell’.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a varied and challenging role. You will deal with a range of Risk Management and Health & Safety services, including Fire Safety and Prevention, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Fleet Management and Environmental Risk, dependant on your experience. You will provide either standalone risk advice, or work in partnership with clients internal teams. You will enjoy the benefit of experienced colleagues to help mentor you with more complex, challenging risks, and as such, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop professionally.

It is essential that you have experience in a Risk Management position gained within a broking, consultancy or industry environment. In addition, you will have already obtained your NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum and should ideally be progressing towards Diploma level. Whilst it’s not a prerequisite, some exposure to undertaking insurance surveys would be advantageous. It is imperative that you are confident, approachable and able to communicate effectively at all levels.
