This is an office-based role, where you will work within a thriving estate agency in Torquay. You will have your own dedicated office, which will allow you to focus on writing significant levels of business. In addition, you will service the mortgage and protection requirements of another busy estate agency in Torquay. Both of these agencies operate within the mid / high net worth arena, and therefore you will benefit from impressive loan sizes and procuration fees.
Using your technical knowledge and well-honed interpersonal skills, you will source suitable lenders and protection providers from the whole of market. You will conduct business, both face to face and over the telephone, in line with your clients’ requirements.
As expected, you must be CeMAP qualified (or equivalent), with a good track record of writing compliant mortgage and protection business. Ideally, you will have previous whole of market mortgage broking experience, although our client will consider high calibre candidates from tied environments such as banks or building societies. The company does have a substantial 4-day induction course, as well as comprehensive ongoing training, in order to ensure that staff are fully competent in their roles.
You will be supported by a highly competent Administration Team at Head Office, who will upload information, chase lenders and solicitors, and keep clients regularly updated throughout the process. You will also have access to a very sophisticated CRM database, which will allow you to keep in regular contact with your contacts. This includes automated features such as text updates, Christmas and Birthday cards to clients, and re-mortgage reminders; all allowing you to write substantial levels of business!
This is a self-employed position, where you will benefit from generous commission splits. However, in order for you to make the transition into this new role, our client will provide you with cash flow assistance for up to 12 months, until you have built up your pipeline. This position offers realistic on target earnings of £60K+. The working hours are typically 9am – 5.30pm, although you will be expected to work occasional evenings and weekend, in line with your clients’ needs.
