This diverse, award-winning legal firm continues to expand its client portfolio and as such, is seeking a Casualty Litigation Assistant.

You will be working within the Casualty Team, where you will pursue settlement of files in line with client instructions and guidelines. You will create an initial case strategy and review all available information, undertaking discussions and negotiations with insureds, insurers and third party solicitors, in order to pursue rapid and appropriate settlements. In addition, you will ensure timely and accurate maintenance of all case management, billing and MI systems, to ensure completeness of records and aid business decision making. This is a ‘hands on’ and fast-paced environment, where you will be encouraged to speak with clients via the telephone to progress each file efficiently. You will also provide written updates by email or letter to clients, detailing case activity to ensure that they receive up to date and accurate information throughout the lifecycle of each case.

In order for your application to be successful, you will need a solid understanding of the legal and technical issues surrounding EL/PL files. Whilst defendant experience is preferred, those from a claimant background that are proficient in positioning cases from a defendant perspective, are also welcomed. You will have experience of small claims and fast-track matters, and as a strong negotiator, you will not be afraid to pick up the phone to speak with relevant parties.
