This is a truly rare opportunity in the North East broking market for an experienced Corporate Broker / Account Handler to join one of the most respected broking teams in the North of England.
Our client is a global broking house that is long established in the region and deeply committed to retaining a major presence in Newcastle. It is recognised by many as the premier corporate broker in the area, and controls a portfolio of corporate accounts comprising many blue-chip household names that is the envy of competing firms. Its management team are widely acclaimed for their technical ability, entrepreneurial approach and the strength of the relationships they enjoy with their clients.
As a result of internal restructuring, driven by several positive changes within the business, the need has arisen for an experienced Account Handler/ Broker to join the Corporate Team. In this high profile and challenging role, you will be responsible for working on a small number of key accounts, each typically generating over £25K commission and fee income.
You will be handling clients from a variety of industry sectors, although there is likely to be a fair amount of exposure to Engineering, Retail, Construction and Manufacturing risks. As such, you must be au fait with a variety of commercial covers, including but by no means limited to, Property, Liability, Fleet and Financial Lines. Whilst it is anticipated that the successful candidate will be ACII qualified, we do welcome applications from high calibre candidates who have chosen not to progress with professional qualifications.
A ‘cultural fit’ is equally important within this team, so it is imperative that you are highly professional and able to build report with large corporate concerns. You must also be diligent, with a keen eye for detail, and conduct yourself with the utmost integrity at all times. We are particularly interested in speaking to candidates from similar global broking houses, but are also keen to hear from candidates from the national, regional and provincial broking firms, who understand the corporate broking market and have a demonstrable track record of managing clients generating circa five figure brokerage.
