Unlike many Commercial Account Handler roles, where accounts are overseen by client-facing personnel, here you will take the lead in managing your own portfolio. Effectively working as a ‘Desk Top Account Executive’ you will assume control of a portfolio of clients with premium spends typically up to £10K.
You will manage your portfolio of accounts throughout the policy lifecycle, including dealing with day to day enquires, administering mid-term amendments and dealing with renewals. You will be responsible for developing a sound understanding of your clientele, scrutinising their businesses to ensure they are adequately covered. You will also be expected to deal with all policy administration and ensure documents are issued in a timely fashion.
Whilst training will be offered, it is essential that you have some experience of working within commercial insurance, ideally gained from within a broking environment. You must have excellent communication skills in order to build rapport with clients and negotiate with insurers. You must also be well organised, meticulous and have a keen eye for detail.
