Over several generations, this specialist broker has forged a fine reputation within the construction industry.
Its clients are based across the UK and range from independent sub-contractors though to large and complex Construction risks. It operates in all niches of the Construction industry, including Groundworks, Civil Engineering, Demolition, Roofing and Scaffolding, to name but a few.
The firm is seeking to add some additional ‘technical firepower’ to the office, and it is likely that the successful candidate will be joining the team in a senior position such as Senior Broker / Account Handler or Office Manager.
As well as providing support on a portfolio of construction risks (renewals, mid-term amendments, dealing with general enquiries and producing reports), you will also be responsible for deputising in the absence of the Directors. For example, you will act as a technical referral point, allocate workloads, ensure work is carried out in a compliant fashion, and oversee relationships with insurers and other stakeholders. You will also be expected to help with new business campaigns; converting warm leads that are phoned into the office.
It is essential that you have a sound understanding of Property and Casualty / Liability insurance, and are confident in your ability to learn the nuances of Construction specific covers such as Plant, CAR and JCT Clause insurance. Needless to say, experience of dealing with Construction insurance would add significant weight to your application.
You must also hold the Cert CII qualification, have a keen eye for detail and, ideally, be familiar with the Open GI broking platform.
In return, you will receive a competitive basic salary (anticipated to be circa £30K, but entirely negotiable) plus bonus, and a range of company benefits such as pension, health insurance and support towards qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute.
