Our client, one of the most reputable independent insurance brokers and IFA’s in the Yorkshire market, is seeking a highly competent Financial Planner to replace a retiring Director.

Established for nearly 50 years, our client has grown steadily and has continued to go from strength to strength, having recently moved to substantial new offices. It provides independent financial advice and insurance broking services to a wide range of private and corporate clients, giving specialist financial advice in the areas of Retirement Planning, Inheritance Tax Planning and Wealth Management.

Its founding Financial Services Director is retiring following a long and very successful stint, initially as MD, but more recently focussing on client work, being at the forefront of its impressive growth over the past several years. This has created a rare opportunity for a very capable and technically competent Financial Planner to effectively fill their shoes as a Senior Financial Planner within this highly successful team. Inheriting the orphaned client bank, you will be chiefly responsible for retaining clients and funds under management, as well as growing FUM, effectively managing client relationships in order to generate additional business opportunities.

As well as being Diploma qualified, specialist qualifications in pension transfers would add significant weight to your application. Although cliché, our client cannot emphasise enough the need for a true client-centric adviser, rather than a ‘sales person’. Technical knowledge, a strong work ethic and drive and determination are all considered prerequisite. Experience of managing substantial client banks, advising HNW clients and broad ranging product knowledge would also be highly advantageous, given the seniority of the position and the nature of the client bank to be inherited.

In return, you will firstly benefit from inheriting an active, fee paying client base. You will also enjoy a substantial base salary, in line with seniority and competency, as well as additional bonus earnings and an attractive pension contribution. A key long-term selling point of this role is the opportunity for potentially being involved in the running of the Financial Services in the longer term.
