As such, it seeks an additional team member to join in an interesting new role. Initially, you will be a Commercial Account Handler and deal with a varied portfolio of accounts, ranging in premium size from around several thousand pounds to, should you have enough experience to handle such complex business, potentially six figures. Clients are from a wide range of industries, such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Property Owners and Professions. You will provide a high level of support to 4 Account Executives, including helping with renewals, broking new business, administering MTA’s, preparing reports and answering general enquiries.

Over the course of approximately 12 – 18 months, you will start to take on duties more commonly associated with that of an Account Executive. This will start with shadowing colleagues on client visits and working with senior colleagues to understand Group Placement strategy. You will then start to assume control of the day to day management of the more straight forward clients within your “Account Handler’s portfolio”, eventually overseeing the more complex, higher premium accounts. Whilst the focus here is very much on the management of existing accounts, you will also be trained in business development techniques and supported in your endeavours to expand your account through new business.

It is essential that you are an experienced Account Handler with a sound understanding of all common commercial covers, including Property, Liability, Fleet, Business Interruption etc. You must have a stable work history and be able to demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm to progress in your career. You will be a team player, who is happy to ‘pitch in’ with any tasks and be happy to put extra work in to help build on the team’s success. As one would expect, given that you will be regularly negotiating with insurers and dealing with clients, you must have excellent communication and rapport building skills, both written and verbal.
