As a Desk Top Commercial Account Executive / New Business Broker, you will work with the introducers (such as governing bodies or trade associations), educating them as to how you can help their members secure more comprehensive cover at a competitive premium. With these leads passed on, and with further prospects sourced through an established database, you will then contact the clients to discuss their forthcoming renewals. After conducting a thorough fact find, you will run the information through the broking platforms and then present your prospect with an appropriate selection of insurance covers to suit each firms’ bespoke needs.
This role will particularly appeal to those candidates who have innovative ideas regarding how to source further new business opportunities, such as new affinity partners or utilising social media.
In order to build rapport with prospects promptly and maintain relations with introducers, you must have excellent communications skills and pride yourself on your professional approach. You will be a consummate deal maker who enjoys new business and knows how to use telesales skills to gleam relevant details like renewal dates and permission to quote.
It is essential that you are from a commercial insurance background and understand the exposures faced by clients from a variety of sectors, as well as being au fait with all common commercial covers. Progress made towards professional qualifications would certainly be advantageous, but is by no means essential. Likewise, our client would like to speak to candidates who know the Acturis platform, but this can easily be taught if not.
In return, you will receive a competitive basic salary (completely negotiable but anticipated to be up to circa £25K) plus a generous performance related bonus and a range of company benefits.
