As a Development Underwriter, you will be the account manager for your panel of brokers. This means you will take overall responsibility for the relationship, and business, with your clients – delivering profitable growth across your panel. You will be regularly visiting your brokers to deliver a great service and build excellent relationships. You will personally underwrite the larger end of new and existing policies.
It is essential that you have a minimum of 12 – 18 months’ experience in a technical, broker facing role. You will also have experience within commercial insurance and/ or Financial Lines in an underwriting capacity. My client has a set candidate profile it looks for; someone who is very dynamic, proactive and constantly looking to better themselves. Therefore, applicants will only be considered who have shown drive in their career history through either promotions or career moves that have been to develop their career. Although not essential, individuals who have gained entry to the insurance industry via a graduate scheme, or who have a strong educational background, would be preferred.
