This global broking giant controls the insurance programmes of some of the Midlands and South West’s largest and best-known companies and, accordingly, is presented with an array of complex and challenging claims to deal with.

Its clients include blue chip household names, many with extensive global exposures spanning a vast array of industry sectors such as Automotive, Food & Beverage and Technology. Typically, clients generate annual brokerage in excess of £20K, and it is entirely feasible that many accounts pay fees in excess of £100K per annum.

As a Claims Management Executive, you will support corporate clients on any claims-related issue, utilising all the specialist resources at this global’s disposal to maximise claims recovery. Needless to say, this includes leveraging your technical knowledge and gravitas in the market to resolve claims swiftly, fairly and to the clients’ benefit.

This a field-based role; whilst you will be ‘checking in’ to the Regional HQ in Birmingham city centre, you will be routinely out visiting clients based across the Midlands and South West. Occasionally, where a loss is experienced elsewhere, you may required to attend client visits and conduct investigations further afield.

As well as helping to resolve claims to clients’ satisfaction, you will work with Account Executives and Directors to ensure that services level agreements are achieved, and also work with clients to establish claims handling and reporting processes. You will also work in close conjunction with loss adjusting and insurer partners, chair claims review meetings, provide insight on insurer performance and adherence to SLA’s, and where necessary, obtain interim claim payments.

It is essential that you have a solid background within commercial / corporate claims, including a knowledge of handling high value and complex claims; this experience could have been gained within a broking, underwriting or adjusting environment. As you will be dealing at board level with FTSE350 companies, you must be professional, business like and possess excellent communication skills. As one would expect, you will have excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills. It is anticipated, but not essential, that you have made progress towards professional qualifications. Furthermore, whilst it is not a prerequisite that you have worked in an external Claims Executive-style role, you must be comfortable working in a client-facing capacity.
