A highly desirable and market-leading insurance business is looking to add to the ranks of its established and successful Underwriting Team with the appointment of a Development Underwriter. You’ll be working in a very passionate and supportive team, where people are really rewarded for their efforts.
As a Development Underwriter, you will be the account manager for your panel of brokers UK-wide. This means you will take overall responsibility for the relationship, and business, with your clients – delivering profitable growth across your panel. You will be regularly visiting your brokers to deliver a great service and build excellent relationships, with a view to growing the Construction and Liability account. You’ll be tasked with generating new business from your panel to achieve your financial and COR targets set by the Underwriting Manager. Being ‘on the road’ frequently, you will be expected to be comfortable in writing business out of your brokers’ offices.
Our client will only consider experienced professionals within the insurance market, therefore you will have an in-depth background in, and technical knowledge of, Property/ Casualty products, ideally with a sound knowledge of Construction (Liability as well as Contractors). It is essential that you are flexible in terms of travel as you’ll likely be on the road twice a week. You must be someone who is confident and proactive, with a desire to succeed and continually push yourself.
As you would expect with the above requirements, there is a generous salary and benefits package, however there is much more to the role than this. You will have a lot of autonomy to manage your own diary, without micro-management, and the flexibility to work from home.
