This is an extremely exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Insurance Account Handler or Underwriter to take their career in an exciting new direction.
Our client is a global broking house based in Leeds city centre, and controls one of the largest portfolios in the region. Clientele include many of the north’s largest and most prestigious companies.
Due to expansion of one of its expert teams, a specialist role has arisen. Here, you will be dealing with a niche line of insurance that is certainly generating a lot of press at the moment. Working in a small team, you will help manage the insurance portfolios of very large companies, including FTSE250 entities and those with complex global exposures. Much like a traditional Account Handler position, in this fascinating role your duties will include liaising with clients, negotiating with insurers, administering mid-term amendments and helping with renewals – but dealing with a specialist cover (as opposed to mainstream lines such as Property, Liability or Directors and Officers).
This role will suit experienced commercial insurance professionals who enjoy the industry but seek a new challenge away from traditional commercial broking or underwriting. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have a genuine interest in commerce, that enjoy ‘getting under the skin’ of their clients and getting to know what makes businesses tick. An interest in the economy and knowledge of current affairs would certainly add value to your application. You must also be highly numerate, well-organised and very thorough in your approach. Needless to say, excellent communication and report writing skills are also a prerequisite.
