Working in close conjunction with Account Executives and Directors, you will assume control of the day to day management of portfolios, whilst liaising with specialist teams (such as Broking, Marine or Aviation) where appropriate. This really is a fantastic opportunity to work amongst the brightest and best in the industry.
You will be responsible for building a sound understanding of your clients’ businesses, ensuring their exposures to risks are appropriately insured. You will achieve this by negotiating with insurers to obtain comprehensive cover at competitive premiums. Throughout the policy life cycle you will administer any mid-term amendments, and help prepare renewal reports and other such documentation in a timely and compliant fashion.
We are eager to speak to insurance professionals who are keen traders, can identify gaps in cover and can cross and up-sell lines and services to mitigate these. As you will be dealing with a varied portfolio generating circa £350K fee income, with individual cases typically earning £30K brokerage, you must be well-organised, have a natural curiosity for ‘what makes businesses tick’, and understand the issues that affect firms in various sectors. Clearly, the ability to build professional rapport with senior personnel from multi-million-pound turnover businesses.
Needless to say, you must have a detailed knowledge of all common commercial covers including, but by no means limited to, Property, Liability, Fleet, Professional Indemnity and Cyber. It is anticipated that you have made some progress towards professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute, or can demonstrate a genuine commitment to commencing these.
