Our client, a highly reputable Boutique Wealth Management firm, is seeking a capable Financial Planner due to the upcoming retirement of a Director.
Established for nearly 30 years, our client has grown steadily and has continued to go from strength to strength. It provides independent financial advice and discretionary fund management to a wide range of private and corporate clients, giving specialist advice in the areas of Retirement Planning, Inheritance Tax Planning, Financial Planning and Investment Management.
As one of its Directors is about to retire, it requires a capable and career-minded IFA to inherit a client bank. The outgoing IFA will stay in place for a period of time in order to go through a ‘handover’ process. You will therefore work closely with this individual, conducting joint meetings in order to establish relationships with existing clients. Being chiefly responsible for retaining clients and funds under management, as well as growing FUM, you will effectively manage client relationships in order to generate additional business opportunities. There are no personal targets in this role, rather having an overall team target, focussed on bringing in additional client funds.
You must be driven and committed to providing quality and compliant financial advice. Our client places significant importance on the culture that has been created within the business, therefore, personality fit is absolutely crucial. You must be an easy going, yet highly motivated individual, who is comfortable working closely with internal stakeholders. Whilst Diploma qualification is the minimum requirement, holding advanced qualifications would add significant weight to your application. Although cliché, our client cannot emphasise enough the need for a true client-centric adviser, rather than a ‘sales person’. Technical knowledge, a strong work ethic and drive and determination are all considered prerequisite.

It’s worth noting that existing recurring income is at such a level that you will instantly qualify for additional bonus earnings. A key long-term selling point of this role is the opportunity to take share ownership, as well as the potential for being involved in the running of the business/ taking over control of the business from the incumbent management team.
