It is backed by one of the biggest personalities in the insurance industry of recent years, an individual who has previously grown a very large brokerage to great acclaim and certainly seems to enjoy being involved in the industry once more! With an exceptionally strong management team, privately-owned and completely without debt, the future is certainly bright for this brokerage. It has a presence in a number of locations across the UK and this is set to grow over the next 12-24 months. Shunning the acquisition trail favoured by other competing brokerages also in ‘high growth mode’, this firm is more focused on the appointment of further talented individuals and teams of Account Executives.
It seeks a Regional Sales Director to join the UK Management Team, effectively acting as ‘right hand man’ (or lady!) to the aforementioned ‘insurance personality.’ You will be responsible for personally converting warm leads from this individual’s longstanding network of professional contacts. Working in close conjunction with the CEO, you will be instrumental in the design of the northern region’s development plans for coming years. As a member of the Management Team, you will assist the leadership of all client-facing staff across both Yorkshire and the North West, with particular reference to sales & development training, as well as helping to create a culture of cross and up-selling across the wider business. This brokerage already boasts of an impressive Marketing & Telesales Department, but it is anticipated that you will have lots of innovative ideas about campaigns and new initiatives that you can create internally, as well as with external stakeholders such as insurers and professional introducers. As one would expect, you will be personally tasked with developing your own pipeline of commercial and corporate prospects.
Whilst it is not essential that you have previously held a similar Sales Director or even managerial position per se, it is expected that you are an impressive company ambassador who can secure the ‘buy in’ of colleagues, prospects, insurers and the wider business community. It is essential that you have a sound understanding of the commercial broking market, coupled with a knowledge of all common commercial lines. Whilst not essential, progress made towards professional qualifications would add weight to your application. Furthermore, demonstrable success in commercial insurance new business development is also a prerequisite.
A natural leader, you should be charismatic with an infectious enthusiasm for building relationships and an unwavering focus on quality. You should be curious about businesses of all shape and size, and commercially astute to help guide the Management Team as the business continues to grow.
