As a result of ongoing growth, this prestigious independent mortgage brokerage based in York is looking to make a senior hire.
This is a thriving company that enjoys a tremendous amount of enquiries that predominantly come from referrals.
The MD of the company is in the position whereby they need to spend more time “working on the business, rather than in the business”, and needs assistance with running the sales operation.
As Sales Manager, you will oversee the Mortgage Advice Team, which will include motivating them to hit their targets, providing training and coaching where necessary, conducting regular appraisals and one to one’s, and acting as a technical referral point. You will also work closely with the Directors, producing key management information and identifying areas for improvement. In addition to these managerial duties, you will also provide mortgage advice to a diverse range of clientele. Whilst it would certainly be welcomed, there is no pressure for you to bring clients with you as there are a huge amount of enquiries coming into the business on a daily basis.
It is essential that you have previous leadership experience with a firm but fair approach, as well as a genuine passion for developing staff to their full potential. You must also be fully CeMAP qualified (or equivalent), with recent experience of writing mortgage business. Independent mortgage broking experience would certainly be advantageous, although we do welcome applications from high calibre, driven candidates from banks or building societies.
