Aston Charles is delighted to be engaged by this renowned broker that seeks a specialist Commercial Claims Handler for its South Yorkshire office.
Reporting into the Broking Director, you will inherit a mixed portfolio of commercial and some corporate clients, so it is therefore essential that you have well-rounded knowledge of a number of different industry sectors, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction and the Professions. You will take ownership of all claims arising from within this portfolio, and keep clients updated on any progress, from notification through to final settlement. Strong account management and relationship building skills are a ‘must’ in order to form a professional rapport with insurers, clients and third parties. Possessing solid negotiation skills, you will ensure that claims are settled expediently and within the best possible terms. In addition, you will help colleagues in broking teams to secure favourable renewal terms by assimilating accurate claims histories and other relevant management information.
Alongside a strong technical understanding of a range of commercial covers (such as Property, Liability, Commercial Combined, PI and D&O), this broker is looking for someone with superb communication skills. Moreover, the firm is keen to speak to someone who is confident in their ability to negotiate claims effectively with insurers, and manage the expectations of clients and suppliers accordingly. Whilst no means essential, progress towards professional qualifications under the CII would add weight to any application.
Our client offers a basic salary of up to £31,000, an attractive benefits package including support towards professional insurance qualifications, 25 days’ holiday, PMI and Pension.
