A leading independent insurance broker based in the North East is looking to appoint two Commercial Account Handlers due to the growth of the business.

Celebrating over 20% growth over the last 12 months, now is a great time to join a business that truly develops its staff. How many other brokers can boast 66% of its Account Executive Team having being promoted internally?

In this role, you will support a team of Account Executives in managing the health and wellbeing of the clients’ risks. This will involve dealing with cases across a wide range of industry sectors from £3K - £250K, although the majority of clients pay between circa £10K - £50K. Our client also has a couple of very profitable schemes that you may become involved with, especially if your experience lends itself to these areas.

Your first year will be focused on developing relationships with its small, yet extremely strong panel of insurers, which will include face to face meetings. Also, you’ll be expected to regularly visit clients with the relevant Account Executive to build a close working bond. You will be supported with any areas of technical development, ensuring that you’re ready to deal with any enquiry.

It is essential that you have experience within a similar commercial insurance role, and any experience specifically in Motor Trade would be an advantage. You will be someone who enjoys meeting existing clients and insurers alike, with the confidence to build relationships both over the phone and face to face.

In return, you will receive a generous package with the usual benefits, as well as a fantastic bonus potential. Not only do you get a bonus based on the percentage increase in your Account Executive(s)’ account, you will receive a commission split on any cross-selling opportunities you generate from your client base, as well as a team bonus based on performance.

If you wish to remain as an Account Handler for the long-term, then that is fine. However, for an Account Handler who is looking to progress into an Account Executive role, we’ve been advised that high-performing Handlers can expect to progress to this level within three years.
