As a Senior Claims Handler, you’ll be joining a small team of specialist claims professionals handling a portfolio of Motor claims, which will include some large and catastrophic injury cases with reserves in excess of £100K.
Using your extensive experience in this specialist field, you’ll become responsible for your own caseload of technical claims within your allocated handling authority. Investigating and making liability decisions are a key element of this role and your ability to undertake telephone enquiries, review accident, police and expert reports to admit, dispute or negotiate your insured’s responsibility will be crucial. Additionally, you’ll be confident in the allocation of accurate reserves, instructing and, where appropriate, challenging technical experts and the negotiation of costs.
You will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years decision making and personal injury claims experience gained from within an insurer, syndicate, TPA or defendant fee earning background. This will be underpinned by an up to date knowledge of case law, injury claims handing protocol, and an understanding of regulatory issues.
