Our client, an international insurer, is looking to grow its dedicated Asset Affinity product line that will provide long-term profitable growth through service-driven, specialist underwriting.

Due to the uncertainty of the trading restrictions that will be in place when the UK leaves the EU, this business is looking to invest in the UK market, ahead of schedule.

You will provide key partners with a flexible approach to underwriting, with an appetite for Asset Affinity. Leading the Underwriting Team, you will determine your own objectives within the wider company plan for the group, as well as providing tactical and strategic leadership for the division. You will have the license to operate with considerable independence, with the occasional direction from the Underwriting Director. You will define the product line strategy and recommend business plans to generate continued profitable growth. The review and analysis of all new insurance risks for pricing, risk exposure and compliance within underwriting guidelines and authorities, will be conducted by you.

Product wise, you’ll deal with insurance solutions for specific assets, including but not limited to Hearing Aids, Spectacles, Electronic Devices, Medical Equipment, Bikes, Sporting Equipment, Trailers, Fine Art, Jewellery, Musical Instruments, Garden Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, Contractors Plant and Equipment, as well as some life-changing events cover such as Personal Accident & Sickness.

To be considered for the role, you will have a minimum of 10 years' in a Lead Underwriting role, with in-depth knowledge of Asset Affinity products. Our client is looking for you to have a background in any of the above niche areas, although may consider a Brown and White goods background. Unfortunately, they will not consider individuals from a predominantly Motor Warranty or Mobile Phone background. You will have a demonstrable track record of profitable transactions and generating business growth, as well as being au fait in writing and executing underwriting business plans. It’s crucial that you have broad operational skills and experience in underwriting, including budgetary management, financial management, and resource allocation etc.

In return, as well as receiving a generous basic salary, this is a great opportunity to build a successful arm of an international insurer. You will have the backing of the board, who will be committed to your success from day one, and your achievements will be in the spotlight, which will only help your chances of future progression. It’s a great time to join this firm on this exciting part of its journey.
